About Me
About Me
I (Jen) am a HCPC registered Clinical Psychologist and I’ve specialised in working with people following adverse and traumatic experiences for most of my career. I have worked with young people for an extensive period of my career, as well as working with parents/carers and adults in relation to processing trauma and managing difficulties that life throws our way. I love working with both young people and adults, to help support understanding of why we experience post-trauma responses, process past experiences and to find ways to move forward to regain meaning, purpose and enjoyment in life.
When I’m not busy being a Clinical Psychologist, I’m an even busier mum of two! After having first-hand experience of some very difficult challenges with my own pre- and post-birth experiences, I also have a particular passion about using my personal and professional experience to support other parents. None of us are immune to mental health difficulties and there should be no shame in sharing the difficulties that we experience. I am passionate in supporting this understanding, and to find the things that matter most to you now and to work towards in the future.
Qualifications
I’m a Clinical Psychologist, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC; registration number PYL31344).
I completed my Clinical Psychology Doctorate training at the University of Liverpool (DClinPsy), following my Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Psychology and my Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Psychological Trauma. I have also completed additional training to become an EMDR therapist, which is a more specialised trauma therapy. EMDR is recommended as a first line therapy for trauma in the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance.
